The KOREMA® GmbH & Co. KG in Weiterstadt near Frankfurt/Main produces expansion joints. These are components that are installed in pipe systems. They consist of made of elastomers reinforced with glass fiber fabric and are used to dampen vibrations, compensate for twisting caused by wind load and temperature-related changes in length in pipe systems in industrial plants. They also decouple acoustically so that working noises from fans cannot propagate into the entire pipe system. They have flanges at both ends through which they are screwed to the duct system.
